This is an inspiring story of Lydia, currently 88-year-old, who has cured her back pain permanently and recently completed a 13 miles marathon.
Her grandson Jonas, couldn't be prouder as he believes that not many around that age could have done what she did, especially since she had been suffering from back pain for years.
Lydia was an active runner when she was young but she stopped after her first pregnancy since she got preoccupied with family and work. 40 years has since passed, with Lydia now 65, but she still hasn't given up on her dream to run in a marathon once again.
She recalled the moment that eventually ignited that passion of hers.
"My daughter came home one day and told me that she came across a marathon called Marvel Fun Run that'll take place in 2 months' time."
Lydia was excited, and she wanted to participate badly. And so, she decided to jog on one morning to see if her body can be pushed further.
"And that's when it happened. Out of nowhere, I felt an intense pain in my back until I dropped on my knees and yelled."
She was then rushed to the hospital by her husband before the doctor ran a few tests on her.
"Based on the X-rays, it seems that you've badly injured your back."
The doc further claimed she couldn't run anymore which left Lydia devastated. She got so depressed until she decided to stay in bed most of the time.
